Using Qualitative Data Analysis in Community Research (05) [EN]

Reed Early, BC Office of the Auditor General

June 3, 2007, 1:00pm - 4:00pm - Intermediate - 16 seats

Through interactive talk, Powerpoint presentation and handout examples, this three part workshop begins with an overview of qualitative data analysis as well as methods grounded in theory. Participants will next have a chance to explore exercises involving quotations, codes, and memos. During the final part of the workshop, participants will engage in an exercise in grounded theory and network mapping. Both exercises will provide opportunities to work with real data. Manual methods vs. software options will be explored. Resource handouts will provide participants with summaries of qualitative methods, websites, software, and Internet resources.
