Facilitation Skills for Evaluators (09) [EN]

Jennifer Birch-Jones, Performance Management Network and Nancy Porteous, Public Health Agency of Canada

June 3, 2007, 9:00am - 4:00pm - Intermediate - 20 seats

Facilitation is now considered a core skill for evaluators but it requires a special set of facilitation skills. Developmental facilitation techniques are needed designing logic models and measurement strategies with small or large groups, This allows the facilitator to go beyond mere process, enabling participants to learn and correctly apply the key terms and concepts needed. In addition, facilitators need to draw upon process facilitation techniques to successfully plan and manage meetings with their own work teams, their Advisory or Steering Committee, or other stakeholders.

Drawing on their extensive experience as evaluation facilitators, Jennifer and Nancy will introduce participants to the key facilitation processes and techniques needed by evaluators, using real life examples. The workshop will be of benefit to evaluators wishing to lead their own facilitations, as well as those managing external consultants hired to do so.
